After the awesome performance from Tommy Largo at August’s Fiasco, the bar is set high for the September guests. We don’t see it being much of a problem though, as the long awaited Fiasco debut of Mr Phil Weeks has finally arrived!

Yes Phil will be in the house for the headline slot and the word on the street is he is going to show Fiasco what it’s all about!

DJ/producer Phil Weeks is a house music purist. His mixing is old school Chicago with a nu-school French flare going from the deepest house to the techiest. His production sounds like it could have been released in the 90’s partly because he uses the same gear – 808’s, 909’s, 606’s, even vintage keys. He prefers vinyl, likes his mixes dirty, and knows how to rock a crowd with a heavy hitting bass line.

Also on the bill this month is one of Fiasco first ever international guests, Jason Pelletier.  Ottawa based Jason made his Fiasco debut back in July 2008 and is itching to get back over here. He has over a decade of experience behind the decks and has a busy DJ schedule back home, allowing him to tour all over Canada on a regular basis. He also hold down two residencies at “Spins & Needles” and “Stay House”.

¡Hola amigos! ¿Qué pasa?

The Fiasco crew have just emerged from a much needed slumber following a hectic and party filled week in clubbing mecca: Ibiza!   Landing in Eivissa Airport we quickly hopped in a taxi, headed to San Antonio and let the week’s festivities unfold…

First up was a Sunday Salinas Beach session courtesy of friend of Fiasco and Ibiza Groove honcho, Marcoloco.    This was a low-key afternoon, away from the usual tourist haunts with Marco playing a mix of chillout through to deep house.     The party kicked off later that night at Space, where ‘We Love…’ saw Felix da Housecat and Boyz Noize tearing up the main stage.

Monday night saw a very special line-up upstairs at the Highlander Bar in San Antonio, where Ed, Pedro and Ali joined Marcoloco’s usual Monday night residency for Fiasco’s official Ibiza debut.   This turned out to be an absolutely rocking night, combining Marcoloco’s balearic beats and Fiasco’s jacking grooves to cook up a real party!

After packing in some much needed beach time either side of 2 Many DJs at Eden on Tuesday night, we got ready for the main event of the week; one that every worker on the island had been talking about and was sure to become the hottest boat party of the summer, courtesy of Marcoloco and Ibiza Groove!      To start the day off, Ed kicked off the pre-party in San Antonio before the capacity crowd headed down to the harbour to get on the boat, which featured a ‘who’s who’ of Ibiza legends, with Jason Bye, Oliver Lang and secret guest Jonathan Ulysses properly rocking the boat before Marcoloco closed it with a live PA from Sarah Story for a true Ibiza experience.    The night didn’t finish there: we joined the Vagrant DJs and Marcoloco back at the Highlander for the after party where we kept the groove going well into Friday morning.

After a few chilled days checking out Cala Bassa beach and Ibiza town, we made our way back to sunny Glasgow and back to reality: Mission accomplished.   Fiasco was well and truly unleashed on Ibiza, and will definitely be back next year so watch this space.  If you haven’t been to Ibiza yet we’d highly recommend it, although you might need another holiday straight after it!

After our triumphant return with Massimo Dacosta, Fiasco hits back on September 11th by welcoming Affi Koman and Ronnie of Sunday Circus, Glasgow’s premier all day clubbing party.

Sunday Circus burst on to the Glasgow club scene two years ago bringing with it quite an original concept in comparison to what everyone else was doing. Being highly inspired by Ibiza club DC10 and The Terrace at Space, these guys wanted to bring a little bit of day clubbing to Glasgow, and did just that!! For what they wanted to do their choice of venue couldn’t be better, The Courtyard, which boasts a huge outdoor mezzanine at the back of the bar.

Over the past two years they have seen the likes of Slam, Milton Jackson, Silicone Soul, Harri plus many more quality spinners to grace their turntables.

These guys have really made their mark in Glasgow’s underground clubbing scene and Fiasco is looking forward to having these two old friends of ours on board for what is looking to be “The greatest show on earth”!
